Description
The cards are a fun way to develop confidence and understanding of what is being read. Children really enjoy creating the characters and settings involved in the reading card.
I have used the cards over a period of several years. I often pair reception and year one students to work together and usually undertake activity cards on a Friday when students are tired.
After completion of the activity I encourage the children to share and comment on the work undertaken. They read the information and the required activity. The other students then comment on what they like about the creation.
I have also used the cards for theme work. Each creation is individual and often shows stages of development in reading comprehension, use of imagination and fine motor skills.
They can be used combined with play activities.
