Pre-reading of the Blue series is the first level in this series. The print is easy to read and illustrations are colourful. The language encourages students to want to read the text. Each word is clearly identified and is repeated frequently enabling students to quickly learn the shape and sound of the words. The activity sheet reinforces that learning with students tracing and writing the word. The pre-reading level can be undertaken at the commencement of school or at kindergarten and is an excellent way to encourage young readers to want to read.
